Some clients suggest accessing a safe space where they can be heard without being judged or interrupted. Others see the process as transformational because it gives them a space to clarify their thoughts without the fear of being criticised. Others might site having access to a sounding board, finding alternative ways of thinking, removing self-imposed barriers, rationalising issues, making things easier, and removing feelings of being overwhelmed.
Everybody is different, and the topics being explored can vary from a single issue, to multiple conflicting issues. The client’s commitments, budget and preferences can also be a factor. As a guide some clients will take part in 3-4 sessions while some prefer a weekly session repeated over a longer period. There is no one size fits all; frequency will be discussed on an ongoing basis to suit your evolving needs.
Although I will be supportive and empathetic it is ultimately my responsibility to expose you to reality and encourage you to explore the aspects that are holding you back. I will ask difficult questions, but in a gentle manner. My goal is to help you explore yourself to the fullest so that you can get in touch with who you really are and what you really want. The first session is about you, your wants, and your needs.
